New info: If your child made the discus throw it has been replaced with the shot put. The shot put is new at the district and state level. The city meet decided as a whole to eliminate the discus throw and add shot put to the events this year. Therefore if your child comes in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in any event they will have the opportunity to compete at the district level.
The track meet will take place during the school day so it will not interfere with any other activities outside of school. I will be sending a paper home on Friday, February 28th about what event(s) your child made and the days they will have practice. We will begin track practice Monday, March 2nd. Practice will take place during the school day from 2:30-2:50. For your child to practice they have to bring athletic shoes, gym shorts or leggings, and a comfortable shirt. I will let your child know if practice changes. The event will be held on Thursday, April 9th at Gadsden City's track starting at 9:30. If it is suppose to rain that day the make-up day is set for Thursday, April 16th.
