Track tryouts will begin the first week in October. Your child has to be born in 2007, 2008, 2009, or 2010 to tryout. I will let everyone know who made the track team the Friday before Thanksgiving holidays. When trying out for an event your child MUST wear gym shorts, gym pants, or leggings along with athletic shoes and a comfortable t-shirt. The events that are available to try out for are the 50 meter run, 100 meter run, 200 meter run, 400 meter run, softball throw, discus throw, and standing long jump. The 800 meter run will be based off of the pacer test from fitness testing due to time restraints. Tryouts will take place during their PE time. Students are not allowed to change clothes during PE. They are welcome to come with gym shorts on underneath their pants.

For the ones who didn't make it I encourage you to tryout next year. If you are a 5th grader I encourage you to not let it stop your dreams of playing a sport in middle school.
